On the last Sunday of each month our wonderful MAKE arch will be set up as a menders and sewers haven!
During each session Sarah Elwick will be on hand to provide advice and support in completing your own projects, whatever they may be.
Suitable for people of all levels, this is a friendly, welcoming environment where you can ask all the questions you want – or if you’d prefer to be left alone and just get on with it grab yourself a cup of tea, a biscuit and get to it!
The space is set up with 12 domestic sewing machines as well as group tables for general mending work.
We use Frister & Rossmann domestic sewing machines as they are an accessible machine and very hardy. Sarah will be on hand to help thread up the machines if needed.
We think this is something anybody with an interest in visible mending and machine sewing will be interested in and we encourage booking as early as possible to secure your space. It is possible to turn up on the day but cannot guarantee space.
Please note this is not a taught session and is a supportive social space for those who want access to equipment and supportive advice. If you have not used a sewing machine or have no visible mending experience we recommend joining either our Introduction to Sewing or Visible Mending course.
