As well as photographing figurative details, she captures incidental marks and textures found in the local environment, like torn bill posters on walls or peeling paint on the inside of doorways, utilising them like painted brush marks in her images. It is a slow, iterative process, which allows her to create largely invented scenes, full of texture, but retain a sense of the places that inspired them.
