Marion Elliot is a designer and printmaker who works mainly in paper. She loves using printmaking techniques to produce densely textured papers to use in her collage work. She has a great love of Folk and Vernacular/Popular art. She loves shop fronts, fairgrounds, hand painted signage, advertising imagery and typography, tattoos, workers guild banners, mottos, religious iconography and paper ephemera. She is especially happy to have collaborated recently with the publisher Joe Pearson of Design For Today on books about the joy of the Circus and Victorian teatimes. Marion started her career in London and worked as a writer, stylist and art director for clients including F&W Media, David and Charles, Hachette, Hallmark, IPC Magazines, National Magazines etc. She has published 25 books on design subjects, including paper engineering and textiles. Marion's work has been exhibited in the UK, USA and Japan and she currently teaches on the BA Illustration course at Hereford College of Arts, as well as working as a freelance illustrator.
