The Garden Embroidery kit is larger and more elaborate than our regular stitch kits. You can use it as a standalone framed sampler but it works really well as a panel on a cushion cover.
The pack includes a linen/cotton mix fabric panel with a printed design, showing clearly where to sew the decorative stitches. There is a guide to show the embroidery stitches required, and a colour coded stitch map showing you where to place them. The kit comes complete with embroidery threads in an array of colours to finish the project. If you wish to make it into a cushion cover there are instructions to guide you, you will have to purchase a cushion insert 40 cm x 40 cm, and some fabric of your choice for the backing.
Finished embroidery is approx 40 x 40 cm.
Nancy Nicholson grew up surrounded by different forms of visual art, and it remains her passion. Her father Roger Nicholson was a noted wallpaper designer and fine artist in his own right. Her mother also worked in textiles and was a leading figure in the revival of stitch crafts from the 1950s through to the 70s.
