Course summary:

Using goldwork wires, you will be introduced to specialist hand embroidery techniques to create a bee brooch from a selection of designs.

Whilst embroidering the bee you will learn several key goldwork techniques such as how to use padding to create raised embroidery, applying pearl purl to create outlines and filling techniques such as cutwork and chipping with goldwork purl.

You will also be shown how to make your embroidered bee into a neatly finished brooch that you can wear. No experience with goldwork embroidery is needed to attend this class but some knowledge of basic hand sewing will be useful.
