About the artist:
I was born in Glasgow and spent most of my life there. After 5 years working in London, I retired to Hove in 2014. I did an Art Foundation course at in Brighton Met, then a Fine Art degree course at Northbrook College in Goring. In 2022 I graduated with First Class Honours (A*). Since graduating I continue to draw regularly, but my true passions are colour and paint. I have experimented with various mediums and surfaces, and at the moment I work with collaged paper which I have painted, stained, or printed. Although abstract, my work references the real world. Sometimes I am inspired by my photographs but, more often, by a particularly appealing piece of coloured paper! I am influenced by lots of artists, but particularly the Brazilian concretists, Lygia Clark, Lygia Pape and Helio Oiticica.
