About the artist:
I draw distilled memories expanding them by adding abstract rhythms and echoes to recognisable elements, combining drawn line with areas of vivid colour. Gardens, vessels and birds are consistent themes. The process of print enables me to collage intuitive sketchbook drawings with scissor-cut paper and then add areas of colour digitally. My finished pieces are Archival Pigment Prints that I print myself to achieve the colour balance which is so important to me. I did my degree in illustration and MA at Brighton University, worked as a freelance illustrator for national newspapers and magazines, and was also a university lecturer. I now concentrate on my own fine art practice.
