About the artist:
These two paint sketches stem from vivid but contrasting moments—one, a hot beach in Croatia painted from memory in oils; the other, inspired by a striking model pose during a Brighton life class. I often work straight in paint without drawing, led by shape, light, and energy. The beach piece marked my return to oils after years of acrylics. My work is primarily figurative, often featuring groups of figures and evolving into semi abstraction. I’m currently exploring cityscapes and landscapes that evoke peaceful, shaded spaces where people pause in summer. I live and work in East Preston, near Worthing, where I also teach art. I sell my work online and have regularly exhibited in Brighton; my work is also held in Worthing Museum’s permanent collection.
