About the artist:
Ildiko is a ceramic artist based in Cambridgeshire, working from her home studio.
Inspired by her experiences with Japanese, Hungarian and Norwegian culture, she crafts vessels that reflect the natural rhythms of water and sand, undulating surfaces that shift with the changing light. Rooted in tradition yet deeply personal, her process combines traditional and Japanese hand-building techniques, such as kurinuki and slab construction, with intricate, individually crafted elements. Each piece is shaped with an intuitive sense of form and texture, celebrating the tactile beauty of stoneware clay. By leaving her ceramics unglazed, she honours the material’s raw essence - the coarse grains, the unrefined surface, the organic imperfections that tell a story of earth and time.
Through her work, she invites the viewer to pause, to feel, and to connect - to witness the subtle dialogue between stillness and movement, permanence and transformation.
