About the artist:
Damian Toal is a multimedia artist whose work spans various disciplines, working both collaboratively and independently on screen based, site specific performance based film and video, digital art, installation and painting. Having studied at undergraduate and post graduate level in Fine Art and Sequential Design; he has exhibited and shown work both nationally and internationally, Including the Tate Liverpool / , The Bartlett, and The Metropole Art Collection. His current work attempts to capture the dynamic interplay of light and form in the Irish coastal landscape and the South Coast of the UK. By focusing on atmospheric shifts and natural elements, shape and form, these paintings explore themes of memory, perception, and place; reflecting a broader engagement with landscape and junction where the still and moving image meet.
