About the artist:
My work is anchored in the natural world, drawing inspiration from its textures and forms. With 14 years of painting experience and a background in printmaking since 1985, I reference imagination, drawings and photographs, to create textured surfaces on collagraph plates and canvases. These textures are achieved by incorporating found objects from the landscape or personal items of sentimental value: coins from my father's collection are embedded into coastal-themed prints, symbolizing hidden treasures and evoking memories of the Cornish coast. In recent works, viscosity printing techniques are used, which involve applying multiple inks to a single plate. A range of effects, from lighter to darker images, can be achieve by the application and removal of inks. Even within a series of prints from the same plate, each piece remains distinct and unique. Overall, my deep connection to nature and innovative printmaking create artworks that are both personal and expressive.
