About the artist:
I am an artist and silversmith based in Surrey. My artistic journey began as a dancer, working in the film and television industry. That early immersion in movement continues to shape how I see and create. I'm best known for my large, textured oil paintings of Sudanese water vessels—‘Ziirs’—exploring fragility, resilience, and connection. Water has been an ongoing source of inspiration for me, with its ever-shifting patterns and deeper teachings. Recently, I have expanded my practice by incorporating sterling silver into my art works melding my skills as a silversmith with my love for painting. In this series of experimental works on paper I have incorporated fine silver leaf and sterling silver thread to represent the reflective qualities of water. My work has been exhibited internationally with the East Africa Art Biennale. I was nominated for Surrey Artist of the Year 2024 and I am featured in Florence Contemporary’s 2025 edition of ’50 Artists to Discover’.
