About the artist:
I am a print maker, illustrator, writer, storyteller and musician. My print work is full of visual stories, mixing the magical with the intimate and familiar. My latest book ‘We the Wild Seas’ brings together stories I’ve made up inspired by the sea while living in Hastings for the past 20 years. These include previously published stories Dolphins Keep Me Safe in Dreams, The Ruddy Useless Fisherman, and The Shipwrecked Sailor, along with many new poems exploring my relationship with the sea. This submission includes new linoprint illustrations from the book, along with an older work - We Talk about our Childhoods, which has echoes of the amazing peddle swans on the Stade in my home town of Hastings. I’m also sharing a new print that explores the Indian folk tale the Elephant and the Dog, featuring Brighton Pavillion, which is a wonderful traditional story that I tell a lot in schools.
