About the artist:
I have been working in clay for over 20 years, exploring form and decoration. In the last 5 years I have turned my love of drawing from life into drawing with ‘clay’ and I have been developing a range of processes to create and express the figurative form. I sculpt from life mainly as that is such a direct and emotional connection, but it is not always possible to do, so I do also use a series of reference photographs of a figure.
