About the artist:
Donna Shrestha is a linocut printmaker based in South East London. During her degree in illustration she found a passion for linocut printmaking. Her prints are influenced by East and South Asian art. Central themes in her work are the universal appeal of nature and world mythology. With purposeful line work her dynamic and energetic linocuts combine abstract stylisation, decorative patterns and vibrant solid colour. She aims to strip away a subject to the most simplistic state and redefine, exploring how form, weight and movement can be captured in a 2-dimensional design.
