About the artist:
Ray Dennis Fine Artist / Printmaker. Born England 1956. Retired from teaching printmaking at University of Brighton Fine art Printmaking as a master Screenprinter, in 2024 after 35 years. As a figurative artist, Ray has practiced most printmaking processes including: etching, relief printing, Lithography and Screenprinting but has had a particular interest in the copper engraving process of Mezzotint for many years. His subject matter has been based generally, around his children’s learning as they have grown up. Over recent years, Ray has taken to making “automatic” drawings using ultra fine pens on paper, where the subject forms and reveals itself after many hours of intuitive mark making. The viewer can decide what individual drawings suggest to them, and are even given liberty to add their own title to the works! A Series of etchings have been made using the same drawing method, and printed in limited edition.
