About the artist:
Steve Bamford was born in Liverpool and now lives in Poole, Dorset. Steve has recently returned to his favourite medium of screen printing which he first experienced on his foundation course before graduating in Graphic Design. Steve then spent 40 years working as a designer. Most of the time running his own Graphic Design business, leaving little time to pursue his love of screen printing. To refresh his interest in the medium, in 2018 Steve completed a 10 week course on screen printing at the Arts University Bournemouth. Afterwards he joined Poole Printmakers where he has developed his screen printing skills, and is now also leading courses in screen printing as a tutor. He regularly exhibits with Poole Printmakers and at various Open Exhibitions. Steve was shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2024. Steve’s work is intended to bring a smile and a positive feeling to viewers. Often invoking nostalgic thoughts of bygone times.
