Course summary:
Come and make colourful and festive three dimensional stars by upcycling drinks cans! They will make beautiful decorations for your tree or home, and could also make great festive gifts.
This is a half-day session of cutting and folding to produce these urban foraged beauties. Materials will be provided, but if you have any favourite cans, feel free to bring them along (1 regular sized can will make 1 star).
Precision cutting and folding will be involved. Teens are welcome if accompanied by a participating, responsible adult.
Tutor Biography:
Ruby Taylor, founder of Native Hands, is inspired by working with natural materials foraged from woods, hedgerows and the land where a dialogue emerges between her hands and the materials. Immersed in the whole cycle of production: harvesting in a sustainable way and processing the raw materials to create functional and sculptural pieces.
Usually teaching groups in the woodlands of East Sussex, Ruby brings her popular courses indoors with Atelier Beside the Sea during the winter months to continue sharing her unique approach to this craft.
Ruby is passionate about helping people develop their skills and creativity whilst developing their connection to the natural world. With over 30 years’ experience, her teaching method comes with clarity, patience and humour.
