About the artist:
My paintings take the rural landscape as their inspiration - this series was painted in 2025 during and following a trip to the Peak District. I like to use texture, mark making, shape and abstraction to convey the complexity and mystery of what we find in nature. In these paintings I enjoyed exploring how creating a surface that connects layers of paint through scratching, sanding and glazing brings elements of surprise and curiosity to the work. I primarily work in mixed media using acrylic and a variety of drawing mediums. I am based in Brighton, UK.
