This coffee table made from undulating layers of birch plywood and a low iron toughened glass top. It draws from multiple sources of inspiration from vaulted cathedrals ceilings to the oscillations of a zen garden, with no definitive front or back.
Dimensions: 61 x 52 x 41 cm.
About the artist:
My plywood coffee tables are the result of an ongoing exploration into form, structure, and material. They grew out of a desire to create boldly original furniture—pieces that don’t follow trends or briefs, but instead reflect a personal vision free from external direction. In contrast to client-led work, this series offers me a space to experiment, to take risks, and to reconnect with making for its own sake. The inspiration draws heavily from both architectural and organic sources. I’m fascinated by the way complex curves appear in nature—waves, shells, erosion patterns—and how they echo the precision and rhythm of built environments like staircases, arches, or layered façades. These forms feel both timeless and futuristic, and I aim to capture that tension in each design. The process begins digitally: sculpting fluid shapes in 3D, slicing them into layered sections, and printing prototypes to test the feel of each piece. Final forms are milled from plywood on a CNC machine.
