About the artist:
Mari Hunt is a 23 year old illustrator and print-maker based in Steyning, West Sussex. She is completely self-taught. Mari creates bold and vibrant designs, capturing the essence of her subjects in unique and often quirky ways. She especially enjoys portraiture but also takes inspiration from the natural world in her plant and animal studies. As a learning disabled and autistic person, art has become a transforming element in Mari’s life. It presents many interesting and unexpected opportunities and has given her a meaningful channel through which to communicate with others. Mari is supported in her art adventure by her family, close friends and by her screen-printing mentor, Jo Telling. She exhibits frequently and sells her work at local art fairs, in selected local stores and online through Superstar Arts. She is best known for her The Cure image, endorsed by Robert Smith, which has sold widely in the UK and beyond.
