Based in Edinburgh, Masha Tiplady is an active member of Edinburgh Printmakers Studios. She works primarily in linocut and wood engraving and enjoys creating intricate details. She uses both reduction and multiple-plate techniques and also often creates single-block linocuts, where the tonal values and textures are achieved by experimenting with various mark-making, often pushing the limits of linocut as a medium in order to achieve the tiniest of detail. Nature and plants frequently feature in Masha’s work. Other recurring subjects are mythology, world folklore and story-telling.
