Collection: Daniela Maria Gargiulo

Daniela Maria Gargiulo first used collage as a composition tool for painting, but found she preferred it to painting for the process of meticulously building the image piece by piece that collage allows, as well as the sharper lines, texture and depth that can be created by cutting, applying and gluing layers of paper. 

She has previously worked in (fabric) appliqué which is a similar technique, and she loves cutting things out. For her collages she cuts everything using small sharp dressmaking scissors.
