Collection: Tamsin Arrowsmith-Brown
Tamsin is a potter based in London, and she makes her wheel thrown porcelain work in a shed at the bottom of her garden. She is inspired by the clean calm lines of Japanese ceramics and by the textures and marks made by embroidery threads and the sharp strokes of the lino-cutter's tools. She is drawn to a monochrome colour palette, in particular the blue and white of ‘traditional’ ceramics. Tamsin applies the decoration to her pieces entirely by eye, using only a roughly drawn pencil mark as a guide which burns out during the glaze fire. As a result each piece is unique.
