ABOUT TUTTON AND YOUNG

Tutton and Young Ltd is run by organiser Jon Tutton and artist and maker Sarah Young.

Our journey began together when we started the Odyssey travelling puppet theatre. Since then we have become organisers of the much loved MADE fairs.

We opened the Atelier 51 studios and shop 10 years ago near London Road in Brighton. In June 2021 we opened Atelier Beside the Sea, an exciting new creative arts space situated on Brighton’s seafront. Atelier 51 now houses 4 studios and a pottery school.

ABOUT ATELIER BESIDE THE SEA

Established in 2021 by Jon Tutton and Sarah Young, Atelier Beside the Sea is an arts venue occupying three of the iconic King’s Road Arches on Brighton Seafront, right between the Palace and West Piers. Our art gallery, shop and creative workshop spaces aim to be a beacon of creativity offering the best in contemporary art and craft to our local community and visitors alike, as well as a home for creative workshops and classes to educate and inspire.

GALLERY

The gallery operates a national and international programme of exhibitions, drawing from the abundantly creative local area, as well as showcasing fresh and original contemporary art, craft and design from across the globe.

SHOP

Our shop specialises in beautiful and practical handmade work and highlights the individual makers and their processes. We offer a carefully curated selection of ceramics, textiles, jewellery, print, painting and sculpture from outstanding artists, craftspeople and designers from Sussex and further afield.

BEEHIVE ART CLUB

We are also home to The Bee Hive Art Club, a Community Interest Company that provides an affordable, inclusive community Art Club each Thursday.

HIRE

Our historic arches are available to hire and offer a unique venue for events, meetings and get togethers, right on Brighton Beach. We can host bespoke exhibitions, corporate meetings, training days, parties and product launches. We are always open to discussing collaborations and event ideas.
