Collection: Janet Milner

Janet Milner is originally from Heckmondwike in West Yorkshire. I studied Printed Textile Design at Liverpool Art College and more recently MA Printmaking at Camberwell UAL, London. 

She is a contemporary artist and printmaker working in Rye, East Sussex.

Printmaking has been a constant in her life ever since the early 1980’s when she had a studio overlooking the Thames in Wapping and a weekend stall on Camden Market selling her hand printed clothing. 

Janet is interested in presenting ordinariness as something special. Where she is from is important in her work, using her northern vocabulary alongside day-to-day stuff that happens as subject matter.She has been told ofter that her work cheers people up.
