Lacquered and rusted steel, oxidising brass, copper, and white metal in a white wooden frame. Wallpaper - Framed' Is inspired by an off-cut of wallpaper found at the side of the road I wanted to capture the positive and negative richness of the swirling foliage of the wallpaper sample. The brass fretwork radiates on the rusted steel background, but it is the white metal flowers with their domed copper centres that jump out at the viewer. The metals in this picture are oxidising and giving an antique warmth to this stitched metal composition.

Maker info: I am a Sussex based silversmith who creates detailed objects, pictures, and jewellery inspired by nature. I see nature as a fabric that covers and protects the earth and flowers as not only a decorative detail but essential, bringing us joy as well as life. I enjoy recreating flowers in sterling silver through the use of construction techniques, capturing each flowers unique intricacies. I am also passionate about floral patterns, and how textile techniques transfer into metal. Combined these aspects are bringing structure, texture, layers, repetition, floral designs and lace like qualities into my work.
