About the artist: Steve Camps was born in Cornwall in 1957. Although working as a builder for most of his life, Steve always had a passion for collecting and selling antique artworks and frames. However it wasn't until February 2023, that he turned his own hand to painting. Partnering with Sailors Jail Gallery in Falmouth later that year, Steve's naive-style works quickly gained a cult following, and he is now regarded as one of the leading outsider artists in Cornwall today. Although Steve paints a range of subjects, it is his most common one which has earned him the title 'The Prince of Whales'.
