Ruth Blanke is a printmaker based in London. The essence of her practice is hand drawn prints, inspired by written and illustrative history. Her mythical landscape's characterise the fragile connection between humans and their environment. Through fragments of narratives she explore these themes highlighting the beauty and destruction of our world. Taking her lead from traditional Chinese techniques, she conveys current world issues, re-inventing the use of symbolism in a modern age. Ruth’s background in screen printing naturally lends itself to Risograph a natural progression of her work over the last few years.
