by Tamsin Arrowsmith-Brown.
This is a wheel thrown porcelain dish. Tamsin is a big fan of dim sum and sushi so she uses these dishes to hold the delicious dipping sauces. They are equally good for holding your jewellery or just for looking pretty on a windowsill.
Each has been decorated by hand using a blue underglaze and finished with a clear glaze.
The decoration is applied entirely by eye, using only a roughly drawn pencil mark as a guide which burns out during the glaze fire. As a result each piece is unique.
Size: 9 x 2 cm.
Tamsin works mostly in porcelain. She is interested in making beautiful functional pieces that people will treasure and use for years. She hand paints her pieces, often with patterns inspired by textiles and embroidery.
This work is shown at Atelier Beside the Sea as part of the Feast exhibition.
