by Sophie Elm.
'Tiny Treasure Tin' is a three colour linocut print.
"This print is a memento of a memento, inspired by a little tin full of seashore treasures, collected over many trips down to a cove from a wonderful holiday in Cornwall. I think any beachcomber will understand the thrill of finding those little nuggets of sea glass and perfect shells. I hope you get a similar thrill peering into this little tin of treasures."
It is printed onto a beautiful Japanese Okawara paper which has a deckled edge. Prints will have a mix of torn and deckled edges.
Image size: 12 x 12 cm.

Sophie Elm is a printmaker, designer and illustrator, creating linocut prints, printed homewares and ephemera. Her work is driven by seasonal changes in the garden and countryside around her. As humans, we have celebrated nature and the changing of the seasons in all cultures and through many art forms. Sophie feels this is important to continue to do today and her work is her personal method of doing so. Each lino print is hand burnished using a wooden spoon. Sophie uses oil based inks for their longevity and vibrant colour.
This work is shown at Atelier Beside the Sea as part of the Feast exhibition.
