This Autumn, Atelier Beside the Sea becomes the seaside home of cinema-inspired art —with a show that's set to be truly unforgettable.

We’re thrilled to welcome the entire membership of the Dark Town Film Club — 30+ artists—each creating new work inspired by their favourite or most impactful films. From cult classics to personal cinematic obsessions, expect an eclectic and visually stunning tribute to the magic of the movies. These will be available to buy as prints or if you come early you can bag the original!

Leading the show is the inimitable Jonny Hannah, who’ll be exhibiting a brand new body of work for the show—prints, paintings, constructions, and more—created especially for this show. There’s even talk of performances by his band “The Postmen”, and screenings of films, including his BAFTA-winning short “The Man with the Beautiful Eyes”, based on a poem by Charles Bukowski.

This is not just an exhibition—it’ll a full-on cultural event.
Art, music, film, and fun… all beside the sea.
