Emily Bornoff is an Illustrator, Book Designer and Printed Textile Designer from London, UK. Growing up around her father’s Antique shop in Westbourne Grove had a huge influence on her, and she became fascinated by art from an early age. Her love of travelling took her around the world and location drawing has become a huge part of the travels too, taking in city scenes, beaches, seascapes or daily life and travels. Emily also takes inspiration from mid-Century Illustration and textiles, folk art, architecture and nature. She loves colour, and is always experimenting with mark making and pattern. She creates all of her work either by painting her subject matter or using various forms of printmaking, and then combines everything digitally at the very end. Her first author/illustrator picture book, 'Where did they Go?' was published by Big Picture Press. She is currently working on a book called ‘Wearing a cat on your head’, about Idioms for Quarto publishing.
