Emma is a multidisciplinary artist based in the West Midlands who works across drawing, painting, and stitch. Her practice originates in annotated sketchbooks, creating drawings that bridge internal and external imagery, the natural world, and the esoteric. Central to her iconography is the cat, serving as a totem of intuition and the unseen, and acting as a companion creature inhabiting our everyday world. Just as her artwork is forged in the threshold between two spheres, her depictions explore how domestic animals move between the physical realm and the spiritual plane. By reimagining everyday environments, Emma highlights the hidden links between dreamscapes and natural spaces. This organic connection is further realised in her recent practice, where she grows and processes plant dyes and inks to incorporate directly into her print and embroidery work. She lives and works alongside her white cat, Oscar.
