Black Cat in a Blue Floral Garden

This print was inspired by one of the neighbourhood cats who hangs out in our garden, until Maggie the dog chases him off.

Artist Carole Fenwick is based in Leeds, West Yorkshire and works as Maggie Magoo Designs. Carole is inspired by folk art, mid-century design, vintage ephemera, and the natural world. Her work covers printed textiles and surface pattern design to collage mixed media and album art. While much of her artwork is produced digitally, she has felt a need to reconnect with a more analogue way of creating, especially in response to the growing presence of AI in creative spaces. Carole has created a mixture of colourful cat artworks for this exhibition including original paintings on canvas, using acrylic paint, hand drawn elements & gold paint, as well as digital prints, stickers, greetings cards & pin badges. Though she’s definitely more of a dog person these days (her business is named after her dog Maggie!) these cats were inspired by a cat who adopted her many years ago, a grey & white tom who she called, naturally, Graham White.
