Humbert the cat (one meaning of his name is bear cub) is a linocut print on Fabriano 5, a half cotton and half woodpulp, smooth and acid free paper. It has been cut with gouges and knives from two blocks and printed on Sarah’s little Adana press in a dark petrol blue grey and a teal blue-grey ink.

Sarah Young is a painter, printmaker, illustrator and maker working with narrative themes often inspired by myth, folk tales, circus and burlesque imagery. As a printmaker she is known for her lino and wood cuts but she also works in screen printing, mono print and collagraph.
