by Douglas Johnson.
A handmade lino print created during lockdown (started in 2020 (uk lockdown 1) and finished and printed in 2021 (uk lockdown 3)), remembering when we could go to the pub and have some food! Hopefully we can go back soon!
"It was a real battle to make and settle with the final layout and design, I aimed for the shape of a grave stone to nod to the potential death of the pub and of a good old night out as we used to know it and and I wanted the feel and shapes of a stain glassed window showing that the pub is many peoples church/sanctuary. The content is based on some scenes and memories of people watching."
