Sense and Sensibility - Print from Jane Austen's The Complete Novels

This print is one of the six frontispieces that were made by Sarah Young for a limited edition of Jane Austen‘s The Complete Novels, published by The Folio Society, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the author‘s birth in 1775.

The wood blocks were cut, printed and then tweaked digitally for the illustration, making the print a faithful reproduction of the actual illustration in a larger scale. The shape echoes the five smaller linocuts that also illustrate each book.

These giclée prints are beautifully made reproductions professionally printed on Hahnemuhle 380gsm archival paper with archival quality inks.

Sarah Young is a painter, printmaker, illustrator and maker working with narrative themes often inspired by myth, folk tales, circus and burlesque imagery. As a printmaker she is known for her lino and wood cuts but also works in screen printing, mono print and collograph.
