Vase (Self Reflection)

This handmade linocut print was made and used for the Worcester City Art Trail (May 2021), shown in the royal porcelain museum. The image is made of a Rubin vase made from 2 silhouette side profile faces and a selection of flowers that represent the positive and negative side of self reflection. Printed on Premium 200 gsm paper with oil-based ink.

Paper size: 29.7 x 42 cm (A3).

Doug Johnson is based in the Midlands and produces his prints, paintings and illustrations from his home studio. He is self-taught and has been making prints for around 5 years. Doug finds inspiration from various sources. His work often features nature and architecture, and he really likes history and looking at old illustrations. He find influence is all sort of art and styles.
