About the artist:
Jacintha Philip is Brighton based Printmaker working predominately in mono-printing and etching. She completed her BA (Hons) in Printmaking at the University of Brighton in 2016 and currently is a member of North Star Studios. her work consists mainly of monoprints, etchings and photopolymer etchings. Printmaking serves as important process in her work due to the nature of creating monoprints. The plate creates ghost-like impressions that reflects the tranparency and making use of transparent materials to embody fragility. Visually, she is interested in the architectural forms which inform the structure of her prints. Jacintha has has developed her practice based on images featuring places that are familiar and that resemble fragments of the idea of home.
