This piece is one of a series exploring the boundary between what is and what is not within our control. Looking at diary pages from a hectic week it seemed that multiple changes had turned neatness into an abstract design. Working with the idea of how we aim to organise our daily lives and yet events beyond our control can push us off course, I made the artwork in the same way as the diary had evolved - by erasing, covering, leaving traces and building layers.
Relief collage: Rag paper with punched holes, ink, thread and acrylic on raw linen.
Dimensions: (framed) 35 x 36 cm.
