About the artist:
Jo is a Surrey-based wildlife artist who draws inspiration from a love of the natural world. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas board, she combines detailed wildlife studies with richly textured backgrounds. Each piece begins with multiple layers of colour, enhanced with silver, copper or gold leaf which is gently brushed back to reveal the colour beneath. The surface is then sealed before the wildlife is painted in fine detail. Jo’s work is a celebration of the wonder of nature, aiming to capture the beauty and character of the wildlife that inspires her.
