Jo is a mixed media artist whose work is inspired by a love of pattern, texture and textiles. She has shown work in group shows nationally and internationally and has exhibited at the RA Summer Exhibition, the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal West of England Academy.

About the artist:
Jo is a mixed media artist based in West Sussex whose work is inspired by a love of pattern, texture and textiles, informed by a background in graphic and textile design. Drawing inspiration from both the natural and built environment, she is particularly fascinated by urban and industrial landscapes and worn and weathered surfaces. Using acrylics and working intuitively, Jo creates her own painted papers, building layered surfaces and rich patinas that are then collaged into geometric compositions. Her work captures fragmented memories of places, and fleeting moments in time. Recent explorations in colour reflect a desire to immerse herself in vibrant, complex palettes, offering a sense of optimism and escape in response to increasingly uncertain times.
