Netting Sheds

The tall netting sheds in Hastings have always fascinated me, exploring the alleys between them, sensing the height and shadows while getting glimpses of the bright sea beyond.

About the artist:
Landscapes, both urban and rural, as well as local or from further afield, inspire Kate's semi-abstract art. Working in acrylics, her paintings reduce a scene down to its simplest forms, utilising strong colour work and perspective to introduce a composition that the viewer is invited to contemplate and explore. Taking up art in her retirement, Kate proudly graduated with a first in Fine Art from Brighton University when she was 70. She now works almost daily from her studio (posh shed!) in the garden of her home in Shoreham by Sea. As a Trustee of 'Arts for Dementia', Kate donates a percentage of all her sales to the charity to support their creative workshops for people living with early stage dementia.
