Everyone wants to get their hand on the cup!

The race and grapple for the FA Cup each year is for me, the most exciting and engaging event in football. It's only in this competition that non-league and local clubs get the opportunity to battle it out against the goliaths of the upper leagues. This work has been assembled using collage, drawing and a book board; the paper backdrop of crowds from FA Cups of old, bear witness to the fight for the FA Cup.

About the artist:
Sussex-based artist Louis TF uses collage to expose parallel worlds that exist side by side, spotlighting the absurd tensions between past and present, analogue and digital culture. Challenging contemporary society’s obsession with perfection, he draws on 20th-century ephemera—photographs, graphics, and advertisements—and collides their tactile imperfections with today’s curated, self-promotional trends. Acting as an image editor, Louis reworks existing visual narratives to reveal chance encounters and fleeting moments that spark revelation or disruption. His layered compositions create sharp narrative clashes, propelling fragments of the past into the present as deliberate art anachronisms.
