About the artist:
Lyndsey Smith SGFA, watercolour artist based near Lewes. She paints commissions of families, houses, pubs and Charity Christmas cards.Clients include Westminster Abbey, the RAF, Leeds Castle, Sandringham, Taylors Port and Harvey’s Brewery. Lyndsey takes part in several annual Exhibitions, across the county and country. Past exhibitions include Mall Galleries, Barbican, Watts Gallery, The Bath Prize and Wells Art Contemporary. When not working on commissions Lyndsey is drawn to sketching the Sussex Coast and Downland. Walking, hearing, feeling, seeing the views. To sit on the grass amongst wildflowers, settle on pebbles or a stony seat, and pull from her pocket a pad, an ink pen or a pencil and sketch the lines. Then capture the light, the colours of the sky, the sea, the tones in the pebbles, the path ahead, by splashing on watercolour from a pocket palette. These small sketches capture all the senses of the moment and become small artworks or big inspirations for larger pieces.
