About the artist:
Miranda Ellis is based in Brighton and works in figurative sculpture exploring themes of the unseen and unpredictable, in particular how glass sculpture is viewed in light and space. She is interested in the universal quality of ancient monolith sculptures , how sculptures frame the environment and interact with each other. These pieces are made using the ancient art of lost wax , the stages include hand carving , mould making , kiln firing and cold working (polishing and grinding). Unique one off pieces.
