About the artist:
Recent weather trends with storms in the UK increasing, give endless sources of inspiration and it has become an addictive pursuit, with constant opportunities to go and experience wild seas along the Sussex coastline to inspire her paintings. Cynthia endeavours to seize the intensity with simplified marks and a minimal colour palette, responding to a particular experience with the directional forces of a paint brush. Although captivated by extreme weather, there is always an under current tempered with the anxieties of our warming sea temperatures.
