Coot chicks

A hand-printed seven layer screenprint of two cute Coot chicks which I saw last spring at Kew.

Screenprint on Fabriano smooth paper.

About the artist:
Paula studied Fine Art Printmaking at WSCAD, Farnham. Her screenprints reflect her penchant for vibrant colour and her passion for wildlife and our natural world. She enjoys long walks and is always on the lookout for potential subjects for her next screenprint! Her aim is to portray the characteristics of the creatures she’s been so lucky to encounter. Working from her photos and sketches as reference, she creates detailed artwork which is then transferred onto a silkscreen to create stencils. She uses these to hand-print her images, making small, limited editions.
