About the artist:
Peter de Wit, who has been a toymaker for more than 40 years, has created a unique range of popup cards, each of which is designed and made by him. Some of the cards are in the form of vignettes of colourful scenes which capture a moment in time. For example, the annual ceremony of swearing in new recruits to the Pontifical Swiss Guard; the French liner Normandie passing The Statue of Liberty as it aproaches New York Harbour; The Gold State Coach of King Charles passing Buckingham Palace. Other card designs include, for example, classic ships such as the Clipper Ship Cutty Sark; the Yacht "America", winner of the first America's Cup Race in 1851.
